Tomorrow is "International Talk Like A Pirate Day"  for GIS students Grades 1-5 Come dressed as a pirate if you wish ! (optional)  Student council will kindly accept 5 NOK donations too if you wish. PIRATES...Did you Know? Pirates  actually  did  have  eye  patches .  One of the reasons given was that pirates wore patches to keep one eye adjusted to  night vision for seeing below deck.  Also, because they just look cool.        A few great books we      read  this week      to spark  discussions      and start writing  about          heroes.   Ask  about  the         characters  and  stories!       The students loved them.        Another one to check out        is  " The Giving Tree " by            Shel  Silverstein. Beautiful.
